If you attemp to Layoff Personal (LOP), take a single day vacation (VAC), or try to take a personal leave day (PLD), and are denied DUE TO ALLOCATION, put in this claim an a 1b (Special Claims) ticket;

Put in for CODE 73 (Misc. Claims) - 130.0 miles and in the remarks use this format with the blanks (**) filled in.

CLAIMING BASIC DAY 130.0 MILES ACCT, ON **/**/** ATTEMPTED TO LAY OF *** WHEN THERE WERE ** EMPLOYEES ON ******* EXTRA BOARD WITH ** VACANCIES FOR THIS DATE. REQUEST WAS DENIED DUE TO ALLOCATION.

Remember, if boards are exhausted OR if there are a lot of vacancies, these claims may be no good. It will most likely be researched by Crew Management, so make sure it is legit. If you are denied, print out whatever applicable extra board you need with the claim on the spot. If you are at home, write down a time that you are denied and the Local Charman will have to research it. He will use it when a Claims Conference is organized.
